Early Life:
John Michael Ferrari’s childhood was not a happy one. He found refuge in playing his guitar and singing. (He was not allowed to play his guitar in his step-father’s house.) The first song he learned was “Tom Dooley” and the first song he wrote at 14 was “Wah Do Wah Do” (not one for the record books.)

John spent his childhood on the streets and got into trouble. Finally, at age 15, a Judge called him incorrigible. Not understanding what that word meant, he responded “Thank you” and the Judge sentenced John to 2 years in the Nevada State Children’s Home in Carson City. John shares this “was probably the best thing that could have happened to me and the first time I felt safe as a child or teen”. Before the time to graduate high school, the principal suggested John Michael drop out of school and join the military which he did; the U.S. Army, 25th Infantry. Another one of the best things that could have happened to him.

Music has been John Michael Ferrari’s life; writing, arranging, and performing. Pepper Jay and John have been music partners for over 30 years. She produces John Michael Ferrari’s music and manages his career.

Newspapers and magazines have been generous to John Michael Ferrari. Award-winning poet singer songwriter John Michael Ferrari writes emotional story-telling songs with a touch of sophistication in the easy listening, Americana, country, indie rock, and pop genres. His songs are derived from his life experiences and the experiences of others. Johns songs are produced by Pepper Jay. Pahrump, Nevada.

Recent honors: John Michael was named Outstanding Male Singer Songwriter of the Year by the Producers Choice Honors 2019. John Michael was awarded Best Peace Song of the Year 2020 at the Hollywood Tribute to the Oscars by Art 4 Peace. John Michael graced the cover of Hollywood Weekly, with 6 page article. February 2020

After a lifetime of performing other peoples songs, and at the encouragement of Pepper Jay, John Michael has created dozens of additional original songs that he performs with his bands, the John Michael Ferrari Band in Las Vegas, or with the Gary Sadker Band in Nashville. John Michael also performs as a solo/duo, ranging from small living room concerts to large concert halls and ballrooms.
Every song has a story. Per his produced, Pepper Jay, ” John Michaels songs are poetry put to music. At times, the songs’ emotionality incites audience to laughter or tears.

Johns childhood was not a happy one. He found refuge in playing his guitar and singing. (He was not allowed to play his guitar in his step-fathers house. ) His first song he learned was Tom Dooley and at 14, he wrote Wah Do Wah Do (not one for the record books. LOL)

John Michael spent his childhood on the streets and got into trouble. Finally, at age 15, a Judge called him incorrigible. Not understanding what that word meant, he responded thank you and the Judge sentenced John Michael to 2 years in the Nevada State Childrens Home in Carson City, which John Michael will say “was probably the best thing that could have happened to me and the first time I felt safe”. Before graduating high school, the principal suggested he drop out of school and join the military which he did.

Music has been Johns life; writing it and performing for audiences across the country. Pepper Jay and John have been music partners for 30 years and Pepper produces all of Johns music and manages Johns career.

The Los Angeles Times wrote a full page story on John Michael entitled, No Earplugs Required and concluded he was the new Sammy Davis Jr or a young Bobby Darin. The Tolucan called John a crooner with a smooth as silk voice.

John Michael Ferrari graced the cover of “Hollywood Weekly” with a 6 page article. February 2020.
John Michael’s song, “Like a Rock and Roll Band,” was named “Peace Song of the Year 2020” by Art 4 Peace, Beverly Hills, CA.
John Michael was named “Singer Songwriter of the Year 2019” by the Producers Choice Honors, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Trivia: John Michael Ferrari is a performance teacher, a pubic speaker and keynote concert speaker, the author of Acting with Your Eyes and the co-author of “Dynamic Song Performance, The Singer’s Bible.”
