Milkshakes and memories fill Daryl Mosley’s new video, “Mayberry State Of Mind,” with a sweetness that reflects on the simple pleasures in life. Images of Daryl working “mandatory overtime” kick off the clip, which quickly transitions to scenes of Main Street strolls, chats with fellow locals and a walk along the riverbank. The video is deliberately low-key with zero “flash” – there are no special effects to jar the small-town vibe. The slower pace works well to focus the viewer’s attention and encourage an appreciation of that “Mayberry state of mind” when everyone knew their neighbors – and cared for their wellbeing.

For award-winning songwriter Mosley, his hometown of Waverly, Tennessee is still that kind of place. “It was such an honor to film the video here,” Daryl says. “It’s my own little ‘Mayberry’ and I love sharing it with the world. It’s all real – the shops, the people, that huge milkshake – 100% – and I wish more folks could come and see it. Really special to me are the scenes along the Duck River … that’s where my dad and I used to go fish,” Mosley adds. “Ours is a community in every sense of the word, and it shows.”

Produced for Pinecastle Records by Ethan Burkhardt and directed by Brian Auburn, the video is a companion piece to Daryl’s new single, “Mayberry State Of Mind.”  The track features musical heavyweights Danny Roberts (mandolin), Tony Wray (guitar, banjo), Adam Haynes (fiddle), and Jeanette Williams on harmony vocals; Mosley plays bass. It is from Daryl’s third solo album, A LIFE WELL LIVED, an 11-song collection that offers reflections on family, faith, and friendship. The disc is set for July 21 release and fans can pre-save now.  “Mayberry State Of Mind” is available on all streaming platforms, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct.

Daryl Mosley Gets Into The Holiday Spirit With New Holiday Single, “An Old Fashioned Christmas”

It has proven to be a career-defining year in 2022 for two-time “Songwriter of the Year” Daryl Mosley. He’s carrying on that momentum by getting into the holiday spirit with the release of his brand new original holiday song, “An Old Fashioned Christmas,” on Pinecastle Records. The track is available now for download and/or streaming on digital retailers HERE.

“One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the nostalgic aspect of it all. Many of us look forward every year to hearing those classic songs, exchanging gifts, and honoring family traditions,” says Daryl. “This song is a celebration of all of those things. We tried to capture those warm and fuzzy, Norman Rockwell kind of emotions that Christmas brings about.”

“An Old Fashioned Christmas” is co-written by Mosley and long-time collaborator Rick Lang. It features the Waverly, Tennessee native’s heartfelt voice and lyrics that deliver a nostalgic message. Sister Sadie songstress Jaelee Roberts adds her stellar harmony vocals and Grascals’ co-founder Danny Roberts shares producer credits with Mosley.

Daryl Mosley To Appear On Coffee, Country & Cody Friday, November 5 – Show Streams LIVE On 650 AM WSM And Simulcasts On Circle TV

Mosley is kicking his promotional efforts into high gear, with an appearance tomorrow morning (Friday, November 5) at 8:30 a.m. CT on the legendary 650 AM WSM’s Coffee, Country & Cody show (listen LIVE). During the segment, the hitmaker will chat about the new record and sample cuts from it. In addition to airing live on the radio, music enthusiasts can also stream the simulcast on Circle TV. Tune in as the award-winning artist catches up with hosts Bill Cody, Charlie Mattos and Kelly Sutton.

To celebrate the new release, Mosley is also excited to unveil the second single from SMALL TOWN DREAMER, “Bringing Simple Back.” The down-home anthem was co-penned by the Waverly, Tennessee native with long-time collaborator Rick Lang. The pair also wrote the album’s lead single, the popular “Transistor Radio,” which is still airing on Sirius XM Bluegrass Junction channel.  Country Music People has praised the new album, calling the songs “well-honed and brilliantly observed portraits of life and folk” while comparing Daryl to the legendary Don Williams. Midwest Record Entertainment agrees, calling the collection  “A real winner that goes beyond the Bluegrass fence post line into your heart.” Music Matters Magazine raved about the project as well, saying “On each track Mosley paints a picture of the characters and traditions of rural America in precise, often heart-breaking detail.” The Country Note calls the album a “stunning collection, one that’s as emotional as your favorite movie and as real as the calluses on a workingman’s hands.”

Mosley wrote or co-wrote all the album’s songs. Among the standouts are the must-hear “Hillbilly Dust,” a cut that pays homage to working hard to get the most out of life, and “The Waverly Train Disaster,” which recalls a tragic 1978 tank car explosion. “Here’s To The Dreamers” serves as the key inspiration for the album’s title and its empowering lyrics offer an optimistic approach for tough times. In addition to straight-forward forays into Bluegrass and Country, the project also features two well-crafted Gospel tunes: “He’s With Me” and “Mama’s Bible.” Jaelee Roberts and Jeanette Williams sing harmony vocals throughout.

Two-time Songwriter of the Year recipient Daryl Mosley releases SMALL TOWN DREAMER November 5 on Pinecastle Records. The collection includes 12 new tracks, all spotlighting the Waverly, Tennessee native’s small town roots and humble upbringing. The record was co-produced by Mosley and The Grascals’ Danny Roberts. Fans can pre-save now.

The first taste of SMALL TOWN DREAMER came via the lead single “Transistor Radio.” Written by Mosley and critically-acclaimed hitmaker Rick Lang, the recording pays homage to the good ole’ days and simpler times. The song gives a shout-out to the Grand Ole Opry, Elvis, Bill Monroe, Aretha Franklin, Motown and other music heroes. Rising Bluegrass star Jaelee Roberts handles the harmony vocals. The companion music video was recently featured in The Country Note and Americana Highways and added to IndiMusic TV’s playlist. CMT.com began airing last week.

Mosley penned all 12 of the album’s tracks, co-writing three songs with Lang and one with Roberts. One of the disc’s standouts is “The Waverly Train Disaster,” which recalls a 1978 tank car explosion that killed 16 people and caused over $1.8 million in damage. “Here’s To The Dreamers” is the key inspiration for the album’s title and its empowering lyrics offer an optimistic approach for tough times. In addition to straight-forward forays into Bluegrass and Country (“Hillbilly Dust,” “The Way I Was Raised”), the project also features two well-crafted Gospel tunes: “He’s With Me” and “Mama’s Bible.” The theme from start to finish centers around Daryl’s one-of-a-kind storytelling and his chameleon-like ability to segue gently through multiple genres.
